What We Are Seeking:

We are in search of an individual who embodies friendliness, is tech-savvy, organized, and excels in multitasking while thriving in a fast-paced environment. As a Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for our customers, playing a crucial role in creating an exceptional experience from the moment they enter our store. This role involves checking in new and existing patients in accordance with state and CRA requirements, creating patient profiles, and providing general assistance as needed. The successful candidate will also participate in our mandatory training program through our innovative JARS University, which includes both virtual and in-person components at our mock-store training facility, ensuring that our team is thoroughly educated on JARS’ policies, procedures, and company culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify customers’ legal age, register new customers in the POS system, and scan returning customers.
  • Check customer purchasing allotments through the POS system at check-in.
  • Promote the JARS brand and generate excitement about shopping at our location.
  • Greet guests and customers with a positive, upbeat, and friendly demeanor.
  • Use appropriate greetings and salutations for all customers at all times.
  • Assist with curbside and online orders as needed.
  • Answer phone calls with professionalism and proper etiquette.
  • Provide customers with information about products, store hours, location, daily specials, and website details.
  • Highlight the JARS Loyalty Program, campaigns, events, and daily notifications.
  • Arrive on time and in a presentable manner for each scheduled shift.
  • Communicate effectively with budtenders regarding order completion updates.
  • Create personable and memorable experiences for all store patrons.
  • Maintain compliance with Michigan state regulations and CRA standards.
  • Perform opening, mid-day, and closing tasks, as well as general upkeep of the reception area.
  • Support store management in an administrative capacity as required.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, policies, compliance guidelines, and protocols.
  • Monitor customer queues at all times.
  • Keep both online and paper menus current with daily offerings.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a retail, sales, or hospitality environment.
  • At least 1 year of previous administrative and/or front desk reception experience.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and follow-up skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Requires standing as well as some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Proficient in operating a computer, POS system, and other office equipment.
  • Work will primarily take place in a fast-paced retail cannabis dispensary.
  • Involves frequent interaction with customers and staff.
  • May require working varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional events.
