Order Entry Pharmacy Technician

We are currently seeking a dedicated Order Entry Pharmacy Technician to join our team.

This position has multiple openings across different shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (1 opening)
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (2 openings, with a $2 shift differential)
  • 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM (2 openings, with a $1 shift differential)

In this role, you will be responsible for the order entry and follow-up of various data tasks, including but not limited to: new order entry, drug cancellations (DCs), STAT order entry, Accuflow Change logs, mail order entry, CII evaluations, work queue management, blister pack management, and patient admissions into the pharmacy system.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the pharmacy computer systems, Framework and DocuTrack, with a focus on ensuring accurate and timely input of prescription and patient information.
  • Conducting research and follow-up to troubleshoot any discrepancies related to prescription and patient data entry.
  • Resolving discrepancies in orders that may arise, including issues such as illegible prescriptions or other medication-related concerns.
  • Collaborating effectively with Order Entry leadership to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Actively contributing to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies, and procedures.
  • Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with coworkers and customers, fostering a trustful and respectful environment.
  • Answering phone inquiries when necessary to address customer needs and requests.
  • Focusing on delivering exceptional customer service to meet the expectations of both internal and external customers.

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in data entry and customer support.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting or customer support role, either as a registered or non-registered technician.
