This position is instrumental in supporting vocational rehabilitation staff in delivering essential services to individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with intake processes, providing pre-employability and work maturity skills training, job development, and job placement. Additional duties may involve providing follow-up services, outreach to underserved populations, collecting educational, social, medical, psychological, and vocational information from clients, their families, and community vocational programs, as well as managing case records.

There exists the potential for a remote or hybrid work schedule, contingent upon performance and operational requirements. However, all work must be conducted within Michigan. Candidates residing outside of Michigan will need to relocate to fulfill the duties associated with this role.

Required Education and Experience

Education:
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree with a major in rehabilitation counseling/services, secondary education, special education, business, human resources, social work, psychology, guidance and counseling, or occupational therapy.

Experience:

  • Rehabilitation Services Coordinator 9: No specific experience is required.
  • Rehabilitation Services Coordinator 10: One year of professional experience in providing rehabilitation services coordination equivalent to a Rehabilitation Services Coordinator 9.
  • Rehabilitation Services Coordinator P11: Two years of professional experience in providing rehabilitation services coordination equivalent to a Rehabilitation Services Coordinator, including one year at the level of a Rehabilitation Services Coordinator 10.
