$750 Sign-On Bonus

Starbucks Barista

Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday to Sunday; rotating weekends required
Shift: 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Location: Butterworth Hospital, 100 Michigan St. Grand Rapids, MI
Compensation: $16 per hour

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of a diverse range of intricate beverage recipes utilizing a complex mix of ingredients, in accordance with standardized recipes. This position requires working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while utilizing specialized kitchen equipment. The Barista must be adept at identifying ingredients and finished products that do not meet established quality standards, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation protocols, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare a wide variety of intricate beverages from standard recipes.
  • Learn and retain knowledge of beverage ingredients, measurements, and recipes effectively.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Efficiently manage multiple tasks including beverage preparation, cash handling, stocking, and sanitation.
  • Operate and maintain specialized kitchen equipment, addressing any technical issues independently or elevating them to leadership when necessary.
  • Identify and rectify any ingredients or finished products that fail to meet quality standards, maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area.
  • Prepare for semi-annual health department and external regulatory inspections.
  • Deliver personalized customer experiences by demonstrating in-depth product knowledge and fulfilling specific customer requests accurately.
  • Execute effective service recovery in situations where products fall short of customer expectations.

Qualifications
Required

  • Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and communicating effectively in English.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
