Sr Mfg Process Technician I

What you will do

Let us embark on a journey to change the world. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation of automated and innovative manufacturing equipment for our product packaging operations. You will receive training to operate and troubleshoot various equipment, including automated assembly, labeling, printing, and robotics. In addition to equipment operation and troubleshooting, you will play a critical role in ensuring product quality through efficient equipment performance. Your mechanical aptitude will enable you to address and resolve issues in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting under limited supervision, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
  • Maintain machine uptime and address faults or stoppages in automated equipment.
  • Execute basic manufacturing operations, including dispensing raw materials, material reconciliation, line clearance, and record transactions.
  • Assist in the review of documentation for assigned areas (procedures, job plans, logs, area audits, and batch records).
  • Serve as a training resource for manufacturing tasks and equipment operation.
  • Utilize human machine interfaces (HMIs) to identify alarms and correct line interruptions.
  • Ensure the availability of components and products for continuous operations.
  • Conduct equipment inspections and create emergency, corrective, or preventative work orders within the Maximo system as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and identify solutions for mechanical errors, safety concerns, or operational inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize computer systems to manage material inventory (SAP transactions) and electronic batch records.
  • Oversee equipment and process validation protocols independently.
  • Adhere to standardized operating procedures for material handling, record keeping, assembly, and packaging in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Report discrepancies to the Team Leader or Production Supervisor to uphold quality standards and operational safety.
  • Train fellow staff on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and general practices.
  • Be available to support operations on non-standard shifts, including weekends and holidays as dictated by business needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical experience in a Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or Packaging environment.
  • Alternatively, an Associate’s degree and 6 months of technical experience in a Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, or Packaging environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow written procedures meticulously.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing malfunctions and performing equipment setup.
  • Educational background in Mechanical, Electronic Engineering Technology, or Industrial Mechanics.
  • Practical experience in a GMP, Medical Device, or Biotech Manufacturing regulated environment.
  • Competence in using computer systems to manage material inventory (SAP transactions) and electronic batch records.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in small groups and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience with highly automated equipment and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Familiarity with discrete component assembly.
  • Strong documentation planning and inventory management skills.
  • An ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for quality, demonstrate self-motivation, and foster a collaborative team spirit, along with a positive demeanor.
  • Knowledge in technical areas such as Packaging or Process Equipment/System Maintenance.
