Job description:

The Facility Technician – II will provide essential support for Facilities and Maintenance operations by performing day-to-day maintenance and repairs of building equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive technical understanding of facility equipment, a solid background in maintenance operations, and exceptional problem-solving abilities.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience with commercial building utility power systems, air compressors, emergency generators, plumbing, fire detection, and various facility systems. A mechanical aptitude paired with a strong knowledge of facilities systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential. Demonstrated experience with mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic systems, as well as electrical controls, is highly desirable.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED with over 5 years of relevant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; or
  • Skilled Electrical or Mechanical Trade experience with a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing setting; or
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience accompanied by an Associate Degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and maintain excellent housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with office relocations, including adjustments to furniture, cubicle configurations, and facilitating personnel movement across the campus.
  • Maintain the Perrysburg building and grounds by utilizing appropriate resources and equipment.
  • Aid in the installation of campus signage and safety equipment.
  • Complete various assigned work orders and undertake minor electrical and plumbing repairs as well as small projects throughout the facility.
  • Address routine tasks that involve identifying, troubleshooting, and repairing irregular conditions in equipment while ensuring timely follow-up on work orders and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Collaborate with inspectors, contractors, and departmental liaisons to execute mechanical and plumbing work and other general maintenance tasks.
  • Interface regularly with other departments, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings.
  • Be prepared to adapt job responsibilities as required to meet business needs.

Estimated Salary Range:
$23.03 – $32.21 per hour.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Occasional stair climbing may be required.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push, or pull occasionally, and up to 27 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Repetitive use of hands for grasping, lifting, handling, carrying, or feeling objects frequently required.
