Job description:

Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea is seeking enthusiastic Baristas for night and weekend shifts who are passionate about engaging with customers and crafting exceptional coffee, espresso, and tea beverages. As a women-led, premium coffeehouse brand, we have proudly operated for over 29 years since our founding in Ann Arbor.

Located in the vibrant downtown Ann Arbor, our café is surrounded by numerous restaurants and retail establishments, with convenient parking in the surrounding neighborhoods and easy access to bus routes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare coffee, tea, and espresso drinks in accordance with Sweetwaters’ high standards.
  • Deliver friendly, accurate, and efficient service to all guests.
  • Execute cash handling procedures with precision and integrity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment at all times.
  • Stay informed about Sweetwaters’ coffee, teas, and other offerings, sharing your knowledge with guests.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong customer service skills and a passion for coffee or tea.
  • Availability for nights and weekends; must work at least 15 hours weekly with a minimum of two weekend shifts.
  • Food service experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs.
  • Previous experience with cash handling and register systems is an asset.
  • A positive demeanor, with a passion for delivering upbeat, friendly, and authentic customer service.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly rate of $15.00 to $16.00, inclusive of tips, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week.
