Compensation will be commensurate with the applicant’s skills and experience and may include team-based bonus opportunities. Please note that temporary associates are not eligible for benefits but may participate in the company’s 401(k) program.

In this role, you will assist the Clare Bridge Program Manager or Coordinator in implementing a calendar of resident-centered, dementia-friendly programs tailored to the unique needs of each resident within the dementia care community. By adhering to Brookdale’s Resident and Family Engagement philosophy, you will provide meaningful and purposeful programming, enhancing the quality of life for our residents. You will support individual abilities and encourage independence while honoring the historical routines, interests, and preferences of each resident.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the implementation of personalized programs that meet the needs and interests of residents, facilitating engagement across the seven domains of well-being: purposeful, intellectual, social, spiritual, emotional, and physical, in a structured environment.
  • Assist the Program Manager or Coordinator in reviewing resident service plans and fulfilling documentation requirements in compliance with Brookdale standards and state regulations.
  • Provide guidance to associates regarding the significance of programming and engagement in enhancing residents’ quality of life.
  • Coordinate and participate in special community events, including family socials, marketing initiatives, and open houses.
  • Maintain positive communication with residents, families, and community professionals, sharing insights into the benefits of Brookdale’s dementia care program and updates on residents’ achievements.
  • Assist in meeting department quality improvement initiatives through the Brookdale Excellence Standards Tool (BEST).
  • Support plans and scheduled programming events outside the community, potentially including driving community vehicles.
  • Participate in the volunteer program, focusing on training and supervision of volunteers as needed.
  • Perform personal care, housekeeping, and dietary tasks as necessary to ensure service quality aligns with Clare Bridge Program standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; an Associate’s Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with older adults and individuals with dementia is preferred, or a relevant combination of education and experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license and a clean 3-year driving record with no more than one moving violation are required.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  • The role involves standing, walking, sitting, and using hands and fingers for tasks.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required, along with potential exposure to communicable diseases and various workplace hazards.
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work may be necessary to ensure coverage, as well as on-call availability as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • This position requires proficiency in following written and verbal instructions, basic technical skills, and knowledge of organizational protocols.
