Job Summary
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for ensuring that assigned work areas are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in accordance with departmental protocols. Key responsibilities include the removal of medical waste, trash, and linens, as well as performing both interim and restorative maintenance on the health system’s hard floors, carpets, and upholstery. This role requires proficiency in one specific area of responsibility.
Essential Functions
- Execute cleaning, disinfecting, and stocking procedures for patient rooms, offices, and ancillary areas, adhering strictly to established guidelines.
- Remove and dispose of linens and waste in accordance with safety and hygiene standards.
- Conduct interim and restorative maintenance on hard floors, carpets, and upholstery, following departmental procedures.
- Assemble, maintain, and store all necessary equipment and supplies to facilitate the completion of tasks in alignment with departmental standards.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless coordination of services and report any maintenance or specialized cleaning needs within the work area.
- Assist visitors and employees in navigating the hospital premises to reach their intended destinations.
- Operate efficiently within a designated cleaning area while being open to providing assistance across various departmental sites when required.

Qualifications
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in public service or customer service in settings such as hotels, hospitals, environmental services, or janitorial services.
