Position Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to assist in the preparation and delivery of services that meet the nutritional needs of patients, guests, and caregivers.

  • Assist in the preparation, sale, and distribution of food and beverage items across all retail areas managed by Food and Nutrition Services, with a focus on Starbucks.
  • Stock, sort, and store food, supplies, dishes, and other items utilized by the department.
  • Execute cash handling functions accurately as assigned.
  • Ensure precise charging for all items for every guest and transaction.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize equipment, workspaces, and storage areas, as well as manage waste disposal and recycling.
  • Uphold standards for quality, safety, sanitation, and communication.
  • Adhere to all safety practices and procedures diligently.
  • Foster positive and proactive communication with co-workers, guests, patients, and other caregivers.
  • Contribute to and support the goals and objectives of Food and Nutrition Services and the Health System.
  • Model hospital standards through actions and communication, exemplifying ICARE values (Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence).
  • Demonstrate and promote exceptional customer service.
  • Follow the established dress code and maintain standards for personal appearance and hygiene.

Qualifications:

General Requirements:

  • Knowledge of and respect for patient rights to privacy, adhering to HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures.
  • Commitment to ICARE values and standards of behavior.
  • Model inclusive behaviors that honor the diversity of patients and caregivers and foster a welcoming environment.

Work Experience:

  • Previous experience in food service is preferred.
  • Prior experience in patient care is also preferred.

Education:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate of Achievement as an Adult Education High School Equivalency.
  • ServSafe Certification is preferred.
