Job Summary
The Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a consistent supply of clean linens for the hotel. This position encompasses all stages of linen processing, including the collection, transportation, sorting, weighing, loading, and unloading of linens from washers, dryers, and chutes. The Laundry Attendant is also tasked with ironing, folding, storing, and delivering linens, in addition to maintaining cleanliness in the laundry area and equipment.
Responsibilities
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience in hospitality or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly and effectively.
- Capacity to thrive in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
- Ability to consistently push and pull laundry carts (both empty and full), with potential weights ranging from 50-400 lbs (varies by property).
- Capability to occasionally transfer linens from washer to dryer, with weights ranging from 25-150 lbs (varies by property).
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and operate washing machines and dryers efficiently.
- Wash and dry all dirty linens, towels, and rags as directed by management.
- Clean dryer filters daily and maintain all laundry equipment according to training.
- Operate the iron according to standard procedures and ensure it is turned off at the end of the day (responsibilities may vary by property).
- Fold linens and towels and stock linen carts as needed.
- Adhere to safe work practices to ensure the safety of both guests and fellow employees.
- Sweep and mop laundry floors, ensuring all linens are stored off the ground.
- Familiarize oneself with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and house rules.
- Remove and sort dirty linens and towels from laundry carts.
- Keep laundry carts clean and free from debris.
- Stock all linen closets throughout the hotel as applicable.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
