Role Overview:
As the Clinical Director of Nutrition, you will lead a dedicated team of registered dietitians to provide comprehensive medical nutrition therapy, ensuring a healthy and healing environment for our patients, their families, and our facility staff. You will collaborate closely with physicians and nursing staff to enhance patient satisfaction and deliver quality care that fulfills each patient’s nutritional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and counseling processes for a team of 2+ registered dietitians
- Foster a collaborative team environment that emphasizes morale, passion, quality, and respect
- Conduct nutritional assessments and implement interventions based on evidence-based practices for both inpatient and outpatient settings
- Educate patients, families, nursing staff, food service, and other facility personnel on nutritional requirements
- Provide nutritional support training to the patient service ambassador team
- Manage clinical Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) projects and collaborate with other departments to achieve established goals
- Document patient assessments, nutritional goals, and interventions in medical records
- Communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff regarding patients’ nutritional statuses
- Oversee physician orders for therapeutic diets and nutritional supplements
- Participate in patient rounds and maintain clinical nutrition policies to ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications:
- Registered Dietitian credentialed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- State-licensed dietitian, as required by state regulations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with regulatory standards
- Proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and various software tools
