Welcome to Pine Mountain Ski & Golf Resort, our premier four-star all-season destination located in Iron Mountain, Michigan. Situated less than three miles from Ford Airport and US Route 2, our resort offers convenient access to a multitude of activities, including top-rated skiing with miles of some of the finest groomed ski runs in the Midwest, suitable for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Overview
The Lift Operator is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of an assigned lift station. This role involves monitoring and operating lift machinery and overseeing the operational activities at the designated lift station.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist all guests with the safe loading and unloading of the ski lift.
  • Provide instruction and exceptional customer service to all guests.
  • Decelerate chairs to enhance the comfort and safety of passengers during loading and unloading.
  • Slow or stop the lift as required for safety purposes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of load/unload ramps by shoveling and/or raking snow.
  • Ensure that all chairs are free of snow, ice, and grease prior to passenger boarding.
  • Identify potential hazards and report them immediately.
  • Familiarize yourself with all policies, procedures, and rules regarding the operation and use of the ski lift.
  • Ensure compliance with all established guidelines by customers and staff.
  • Implement emergency procedures, including contacting ski patrol when necessary.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-operation inspections and follow all associated procedures.
  • Assist with the evacuation of a disabled lift if required.
  • Verify that each skier/snowboarder possesses a valid day ticket or season pass prior to boarding the lift.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and provide information as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of lift shacks and remove any trash as necessary.
  • Availability for work on weekdays, weekends, and during nights is required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be physically capable of assisting customers during the lift boarding process.
  • Must be physically able to clear snow or ice when necessary.
  • Strong teamwork skills are essential.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
