Job description:

Job Summary
We invite applicants for the position of Server, who will be responsible for taking customer food and drink orders, serving meals and beverages, preparing itemized checks, and occasionally processing payments. Additional duties may include escorting guests to their tables, serving customers seated at counters, setting up and clearing tables, and operating a cash register. The Server will also verify patrons’ identification to ensure compliance with the minimum age requirement for alcohol purchases. The ideal candidate is committed to providing the highest quality of service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent, with a preference for experience in hospitality or a related field.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with state regulations).
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with state regulations).
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and selecting among various courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Capacity to work effectively in high-pressure and stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to promote safe and efficient hotel operations at all times.
  • Fulfill certification requirements relevant to the position, including Alcohol Awareness, Food Handling, and Safety certifications.
  • Familiarize oneself with the restaurant and lounge layout and understand the functions of various job positions.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and daily specials.
  • Provide guests with all food and beverage services in a warm, friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables as needed.
  • Become proficient in the operation of the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system.
  • Execute cashiering functions including closing checks and related paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to assigned station rotations.
  • Ensure tables and service areas are well-stocked, tidy, and clean at all times.
  • Complete any additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
