Collegiate Hotel Group® is excited to announce an opening for a Lead Barista at Graduate East Lansing, where we take pride in our outstanding team of hospitality professionals.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uphold the dining areas of service to align with the brand’s quality and service standards.
- Coordinate the scheduling of café staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Provide guidance and oversight to café staff to promote efficient service.
- Conduct regular walk-throughs of dining and storage areas to guarantee cleanliness and organization.
- Fill in for additional shifts as necessary to maintain service excellence during staff shortages.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures concerning quality standards, uniform compliance, cash handling, and presentation quality.
- Greet customers by identifying their coffee preferences and needs.
- Educate customers on the coffee drink menu through clear and engaging presentations.
- Prepare and serve coffee beverages according to established recipes and preparation techniques.
- Manage inventory by restocking coffee supplies, maintaining brewing equipment, and ensuring ample pastries and cookies for the coffee bar.
- Keep equipment in optimal working order by following operational guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and performing routine maintenance.
- Foster a safe and healthy work environment by complying with organizational and sanitation standards.
- Drive quality improvements by analyzing, evaluating, and redesigning processes; implementing changes; and enhancing the overall appearance of the store and coffee bar.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
