Job Title: Environmental Services Technician
Position Overview:
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of hospital facilities in accordance with hospital policies, departmental protocols, and relevant regulatory standards. This role is crucial in providing a safe and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to safe workplace practices following regulatory guidelines.
- Clean and restock all assigned areas, including patient rooms, restrooms, offices, clinical areas, conference rooms, nurses’ stations, and stairwells, in alignment with departmental standards. Maintain accurate work assignment sheets reflecting daily responsibilities in designated areas.
- Implement the six-step cleaning process as detailed in departmental procedures, along with any additional steps outlined in job assignments.
- Clean and sanitize patient beds and transport equipment and furniture as needed.
- Dispose of biomedical and solid waste materials in compliance with established policies.
- Wear the designated uniform and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Set up conference rooms as required and clean any gross organic soil according to departmental guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Six months of housekeeping or maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
