Position Summary
- Cook – Prepares and serves food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, following facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Assists in ensuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning protocols are adhered to. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, will support dietary aides as needed and provide direction to other employees with approval.
- Safety – Utilizes protective gear in all appropriate tasks, ensuring the safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to safety precautions. Responsible for timely reporting of equipment and cleaning product needs or malfunctions to the supervisor. Maintains established standards for safety and quality, following infection control and universal precautions to maintain a sanitary environment.
- Punctuality – Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks. Responds promptly to the paging system.
- Customer Experience – Represents HCSG positively by following instructions, demonstrating courtesy, and cooperating with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience – Engages in positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a positive attitude while effectively following oral and written instructions and performing routine, repetitive tasks daily.
- After completing all necessary training, must utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. Successful completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification is required in accordance with State/County law.
- Must ensure consistent attendance and punctual arrival.
- Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies as mandated by State, Local, and/or Customers is necessary.
- Must be capable of lifting/carrying a maximum of 50 pounds, pushing/pulling 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously and work around food and cleaning products.
- Must reside within the service area.
