Job description:

Entry-level management position focused on supporting the daily operations of Rooms, encompassing areas such as Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. This role involves assisting employees in executing guest arrival and departure procedures while upholding the property’s cleanliness standards. The position is committed to fostering guest and employee satisfaction and achieving operational budget goals.

Candidate Profile
Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED with three years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area, OR
  • A two-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field, along with one year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or a related professional area.

Core Work Activities
Supporting the Management of Rooms Operations Activities

  • Open and close Front Desk shifts and Housekeeping, ensuring completion of assigned shift checklists and associated duties.
  • Run and review critical information contained in room operations reports.
  • Understand the functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services operations.
  • Operate all department equipment as necessary and report malfunctions promptly.
  • Ensure employees are equipped with the proper supplies and uniforms.
  • Comprehend night audit procedures and adeptly utilize relevant reports.
  • Understand and comply with loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Communicate performance expectations to employees in accordance with established job descriptions.
  • Address employee questions and concerns effectively.
  • Schedule employees in alignment with business demands and monitor time and attendance records.

Contributing Information to Support Managing to Budget

  • Supervise same-day selling procedures to optimize room revenue and property occupancy.
  • Verify room rates for accuracy to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Utilize budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports to assist in the management of Room Operations.
  • Participate in managing departmental controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgeted objectives.
  • Recognize the impact of Room Operations on overall property financial goals and objectives.

Providing for and Managing the Guest Experience

  • Assist in investigating employee and guest incidents.
  • Support the implementation of a guest information tracking system to maintain a successful repeat guest recognition program tailored to guest preferences.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Engage with guests to solicit feedback on product quality and service levels, effectively addressing and resolving issues, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
  • Participate in reviewing comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.

The hourly pay range for this position is $23.56 to $27.88.
