Job description:
In this role, you will engage in a customer service capacity, providing essential administrative and clerical support to patients and customers within a medical environment. Your responsibilities will include warmly greeting patients and visitors, efficiently checking them in and out, and ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained. You will verify and enter demographic information accurately.

You will also be responsible for obtaining and verifying insurance authorizations and precertifications, managing medical record release requests, and scheduling and confirming patient appointments. Additionally, you will meticulously enter, review, and submit charges for patient procedures and services on a daily basis, collect co-payments, and reconcile all daily reports and deposits for accuracy. Providing general office and clerical support to your assigned area will be integral to your role.

Candidates are required to possess a high school diploma or an equivalent certification, or have one year of relevant cumulative job experience. Note that relevant professional licensure or certification may be considered as equivalent to education or experience when applicable. While two years of medical office experience is preferred, it is not mandatory.

This position is organized under the Henry Ford Ascension Medical Group MI within the MHC Windermere IM department and operates during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with a schedule of eight hours per day.
