Pratt Miller is seeking a seasoned Level II Truck Driver to join our Motorsports business unit. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role within Race Operations, with responsibilities encompassing both shop and track settings.
Essential Functions and Skills:
Truck Driver Responsibilities:
- Communicate needs effectively to management.
- Ensure alignment of processes and quality of work with team expectations.
- Familiarize oneself with electronic logging for Race Tractors and collaborate with Pratt Miller operational staff to harmonize Race Operations practices with company standards.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to guarantee that tractors and trailers possess the requisite licensing and permits.
- Identify areas for improvement and assist in developing plans to implement enhancements.
- Engage in critical HR activities related to Truck Preparation and Maintenance.
- Execute routine and emergency maintenance for the tractor and trailer fleet.
Truck Inventory Management:
- Employ team checklists and other protocols to verify that each truck is equipped with appropriate inventory for every event, recognizing that inventory requirements may vary.
- Maintain accountability for spare parts on trucks utilizing a Bill of Materials (BOM) developed in collaboration with the Lead Truck Driver, Operations Manager, and Team Manager.
- Ensure adherence to standardized processes by all truck drivers.
Trackside Execution:
- Oversee the unloading and loading of trailers.
- Ensure that tractor and trailer presentation and cleanliness are maintained to a high standard.
- Perform various tasks at the track, including but not limited to:
- Setting up the pit lane.
- Stocking pit equipment with necessary supplies.
- Cleaning and maintaining pit equipment.
- Undertaking unique tasks to support the team as required.
- Assisting with team hospitality support.
Shop Execution:
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the work area.
- Ensure all necessary adjustments and repairs are made to pit equipment.
- Partner with the Lead Truck Driver to establish a consistent level of preparation across all Corvette equipment.
- Demonstrate a positive, team-first attitude.
- Actively seek opportunities to enhance personal skillsets.
- Report any issues to the Lead Truck Driver and Operations Manager for resolution.
- Uphold proper care for equipment at all times, including during loading, unloading, and events.
- Contribute feedback on long-term equipment planning.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, tasks related to the following areas may be assigned as needed:
- Support Pratt Miller initiatives, marketing events, and general development efforts.
- Participate in monthly meetings with the Operations Manager to discuss goals and progress.
Essential Knowledge and Skills:
Desired Education:
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience with a valid CDL for manual transmission.
- A demonstrated track record of achieving program goals and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- A clean driving record.
Desired Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Tasks will vary as per the Duties and Responsibilities outlined.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- Occasional stress may be encountered.
- Extended hours may be necessary.
- Physical labor is a regular component of daily tasks.
- Travel requirements may reach up to 60%.

Pay Range: $63,500.00 – $101,700.00
