Job description:

When patients arrive at our outpatient physical therapy center, we strive to provide them with an outstanding experience right from the front desk. As a Patient Service Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in both the patient interaction and the operational aspects of our center. Your contributions significantly impact each patient’s care experience, beginning the moment they enter the waiting room.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and register patients, offering them comprehensive information about what to expect during their visit, as well as details regarding their next appointment during checkout.
  • Schedule patient appointments, both in-person and via telephone.
  • Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders, including attorney offices, insurance companies, translation services, operational leaders, and the business development team.
  • Collect co-pays from patients, manage payer approvals, and execute insurance authorizations and verifications.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of front desk experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout the workday.
  • Adequate manual dexterity for typing (including 10-key entry) during shifts.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs safely from ground to waist using appropriate body mechanics.
  • Ability to carry office supplies weighing up to 10 lbs.
  • Sufficient visual acuity (near and distant) to maintain accurate records, recognize individuals, and comprehend written instructions.
