As a Ramp Agent, you will be responsible for the secure and timely arrival of our customers’ baggage and cargo. The demands of this position involve physical activities that include bending, lifting, standing, and walking. You will engage in repetitive tasks, such as loading and stacking bags weighing between 50 and 70 pounds. These tasks may occasionally be performed in challenging weather conditions, including heat, rain, and snow. We prioritize safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures.
Key daily responsibilities include:
– Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, while ensuring timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from their gate positions.
– Protecting cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and adverse weather conditions.
– Operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors within congested areas.
– Utilizing baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to customer destinations.
Scheduling is determined by operational needs, with shifts varying from early morning to overnight. Each station’s schedule may differ according to its specific flight operations.
