Position Summary

  • Kitchen Helper / Dietary Aide: Assist the Cook in meal preparation and service, arrange food on plates/trays per established policies and procedures, and ensure quality food service. Additional responsibilities include preparing and delivering food trays, washing dishes, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen to meet health standards.
  • Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of protective gear and cleaning solutions. Report equipment needs and malfunctions to supervisors promptly and follow infection control and universal precautions to maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Punctuality: Demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality, ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks, and respond to paging systems swiftly.
  • Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, coworkers, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Engage in positive and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

  • Exhibit a positive attitude with the ability to follow both oral and written instructions and perform routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
  • Upon completion of training, display leadership skills by managing responsibilities independently while ensuring safety.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and specialized training in food service is advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe certification and a Food Handler’s card are mandatory as per state/county regulations.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 Vaccination Policies as required by state, local, and customer mandates.
  • Capability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and maintain physical stamina for standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable working with food and cleaning products.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
