In this role, under direct supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, guiding them to the appropriate hospital locations. You will also answer incoming calls, providing pertinent information to both patients and visitors while utilizing an online computer system.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcome patients and visitors by retrieving patient information from the computer system, providing room numbers, issuing visitor passes, and directing visitors to their designated locations while adhering to any visiting restrictions.
2. Deliver general information to visitors and respond to telephone inquiries regarding visiting hours, visitor limitations per patient, and hospital services; route calls, page staff, or take messages for physicians as necessary.
3. Assist and provide direction to hospital visitors and patients to ensure they reach the appropriate locations.
4. Maintain an organized visitor pass file in accordance with established procedures, ensuring an accurate inventory of passes for each patient room, while replenishing any missing or damaged passes.
5. Input visiting restrictions into the online system upon request from nursing staff, security personnel, or patients.
6. Coordinate transportation for patients as requested, liaising with taxi services and arranging transport to various hospital departments, including Labor and Delivery when necessary.
7. Foster a positive guest relations experience by anticipating and addressing the needs of others; providing timely assistance in a courteous and respectful manner while maintaining privacy, confidentiality, and dignity. Uphold a professional appearance and contribute to a clean and safe environment.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
