Job description:

Nino Salvaggio is seeking a Courtesy Clerk for our Clinton Township location.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Efficiently bag and package all customer purchases and merchandise in accordance with Nino Salvaggio International Marketplace’s established bagging guidelines and standards.
  • Promptly address spills, breakages, and leaks in containers, adhering to company protocols to minimize hazards and prevent accidents.
  • Collect shopping carts from the parking lot, regardless of weather conditions, and return them to designated areas and pickup points.
  • Appropriately sort and manage all items returning to stock, ensuring that perishable and refrigerated products are returned quickly and correctly.
  • Handle damaged and/or spoiled products according to departmental and company guidelines while assisting in managing the inventory of damaged goods.
  • Provide assistance to customers with their orders and inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer service.
  • Support customers with large or bulk purchases, including helping transport items to their vehicles and assisting with loading.
  • Perform sweeping, mopping, and other housekeeping/maintenance tasks as assigned.
  • Extend a warm greeting to all customers, delivering prompt and courteous service.
  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance, consistently adhering to the Company’s grooming and dress standards.
  • Report any safety, equipment issues, concerns, or violations to management immediately.
  • Assist in training new associates as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments as required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to work in extreme cold, heat, snow, rain, and/or humid conditions.
  • Competence to consistently perform duties outdoors.
  • Capability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of eight hours or more.
  • Must regularly bend, lift, and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to safely push and pull multiple shopping carts.
  • Required to push/pull weights of up to 50 pounds (e.g., shopping carts).
  • Strong multitasking abilities and a positive attitude are essential.
