Job description:

We are currently seeking a Safety Manager to uphold the strong safety culture that RAM Construction Services has developed over the years. The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to continuous learning, a disciplined and systematic approach to safety management, and a genuine desire to support team members with a positive and proactive mindset. A keen interest in commercial construction is essential for this role.

As a Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role within the construction industry by ensuring that all products meet quality standards while strictly adhering to safety protocols. Your contributions will be vital in minimizing the risk of product recalls, upholding the company’s esteemed reputation, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and conduct emergency response planning.
  • Undertake incident investigations and promote a robust safety culture.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and drive continuous improvements.

Specific Duties:

  • Organize safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance while identifying areas for corrective action and implementing follow-up assessments.
  • Plan and deliver safety training programs focused on prevention and compliance.
  • Develop and manage comprehensive environmental safety and health programs.
  • Advise project management and superintendent teams on health and safety requirements, ensuring all job sites meet industry, local, state, and federal standards.
  • Collaborate with management to formulate an Emergency Action Plan, while serving as the primary contact for project site injuries and incident management.
  • Maintain detailed logs of safety inspections, reports, and relevant correspondence.
  • Ensure adherence to approved manuals, internal policies, procedures, and contract documents during all work activities.
  • Conduct training and investigations focused on accident prevention.
  • Analyze incidents to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage worker’s compensation claims for workplace injuries.
  • Propose solutions and improvements to address safety concerns.
  • Facilitate safety meetings with employees and consistently evaluate and enhance safety programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in risk management and health/safety management.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in identifying safety hazards.
  • Ability to generate detailed reports and develop effective safety procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills with an understanding of data analysis and risk management.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and motivational skills.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to foster positive relationships.
  • Capacity to identify necessary safety improvements and prioritize tasks effectively during incidents.

Education & Additional Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or a related field; IH certification preferred.
  • Professional certifications (CSP or ASP) are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction preferred.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking expertise.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and city safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines efficiently.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a knack for motivating and providing constructive feedback to a team.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook; familiarity with Procore and Power BI is preferred.

Work Environment:
This position encompasses a hybrid work setting, balancing office and field responsibilities.

Physical Demands:
