Job description:

We are seeking to fill full-time and part-time Housekeeper positions immediately at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, located at 3901 Beaubien Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48201. Please note that applications will only be accepted online.

Available schedules include both full-time and part-time, with a preference for candidates who can maintain open availability and work rotating weekends. Exact hours and specific days will be discussed further during the interview process. No prior experience is required for this role.

Job Summary
The Housekeeper performs essential cleaning duties to uphold and maintain a clean and orderly environment within establishments such as hotels, restaurants, and hospitals. Responsibilities include making beds, replenishing linens, cleaning rooms and hallways, and vacuuming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service with attention to detail.
  • Sweep, scrub, mop, and polish floors.
  • Vacuum carpets, rugs, and draperies.
  • Shampoo carpets, rugs, and upholstery as necessary.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fittings.
  • Clean metal fixtures and fittings to maintain cleanliness.
  • Empty and sanitize trash containers.
  • Dispose of waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
  • Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs, and showers to ensure hygiene.
  • Wipe down glass surfaces for clarity.
  • Make beds and change linens as required.
  • Align furniture and amenities according to established layouts.
  • Address guest inquiries and special requests with efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping issues, such as spills or broken glass.
  • Contribute collaboratively to team efforts and maintain professionalism with clients and colleagues.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
