Part-time position
At Cedarbrook Senior Living, we are dedicated to understanding and fulfilling what “Celebrating Life Every Day!” means for our residents and their families. We are currently seeking a dynamic part-time Activities Coordinator for our Rochester location.
Responsibilities:
– Assist in the development and oversight of resident services, including the planning and coordination of opportunities that promote health, wellbeing, engagement, and personal growth among residents.
– Plan, schedule, and conduct activity programs that provide a range of physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual opportunities for residents.
– Attend all community-planned functions, coordinating each event from inception to conclusion, inclusive of setup, execution, and dismantling.
– Help plan and implement appropriate programs for holidays and special events.
– Oversee the decoration of the community for holiday celebrations.
– Assist in the preparation and organization of a comprehensive calendar of events, obtaining final approval from the Activities Director, and ensuring its posting and distribution.
– Contribute to the development and dissemination of the community newsletter.
– Engage with new residents through meetings to introduce them to our programs.
– Maintain ongoing communication with residents and, when necessary, their family members.
– Address resident groups and other communities on subjects of common interest.
– Maintain or assist in maintaining a database, and prepare reports on resident assessments, participation, and satisfaction levels.
– Foster an atmosphere of hospitality by interacting positively with residents, guests, and staff.
– Safeguard the privacy of residents when conveying oral and written information.
Education/Experience:
– A minimum of an Associate’s degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school.
– One to three years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
– Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Sociology or Recreational Therapy, or an Activity Director Certification.
