Position Summary:
To further this mission, we are thrilled to present an opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail store located at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. The individual in this role will be responsible for providing an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, cultivating and sustaining customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.
Responsibilities:
Deliver Overall Brand Experience
- Champion and exemplify 5.11’s values, mission, and service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to implement merchandising updates, identify enhancement opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor recovery to meet brand standards.
- Ensure that all alterations and embellishments are executed in accordance with departmental specifications.
- Model an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Oversee housekeeping duties to maintain a neat, clean, and professional store environment.
- In collaboration with the Store Manager, monitor and follow up on sales goals, plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
- Assist with merchandise reductions, price changes, and transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, receive, unpack, and label merchandise with security tags.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure employee and customer safety.
- Possess a working knowledge of, and oversee the use of, all company systems in-store.
Build Customer Relationships
- Foster an environment that maintains a 100% customer-centric focus.
- Demonstrate selling behaviors that cultivate customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Promote and support the use of store tools and systems to enhance customer relationship management.
Achieve Results
- Take accountability for both store-level and individual sales goals.
- Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber leadership service specialists.
- Evaluate team performance and provide constructive feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring collaborative teamwork and resolution of issues.
- Create and adjust the store labor schedule as needed.
- Manage store controllable expenses effectively.
- Protect store assets by implementing loss prevention best practices.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate should possess the following credentials:
- A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience—preferably in apparel.
- Prior retail management or supervisory experience is essential.
- Proven track record of delivering superior customer experiences and driving customer loyalty.
- Demonstrated ability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
- Strong business acumen complemented by strategic and analytical skills.
- Exceptional communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Physical ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly.
- Capability to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Experience using a POS system.
