POSITION SUMMARY:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail location in Shelby Township, MI, who will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience. This position involves building and maintaining customer relationships while effectively achieving store sales goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver Overall Brand Experience

  • Direct and exemplify 5.11’s values, mission, and service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
  • Lead and delegate tasks associated with merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor recovery to align with brand standards.
  • Ensure that all alterations and embellishments are executed in accordance with departmental specifications.
  • Model an efficient and gratifying cash-wrap experience.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional store by completing housekeeping duties.
  • In coordination with the Store Manager, monitor and follow up on sales goals, plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
  • Assist with markdowns, price changes, and merchandise transfers.
  • Unload delivery trucks, receive, open, unpack, and label merchandise with security tags.
  • Adhere to and implement safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and oversee the use of all company systems within the store.

  • Foster an environment with a 100% focus on customer engagement.
  • Model effective selling behaviors to establish customer relationships and strengthen brand loyalty.
  • Support the use of store tools and systems designed to nurture customer relationships.

  • Take accountability for both store and individual sales goals.
  • Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber leadership service specialists.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring a collaborative and positive working environment while resolving any issues.
  • Develop and adjust store labor schedules as necessary.
  • Help manage controllable store expenses.
  • Safeguard store assets by implementing comprehensive loss prevention practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following credentials:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree, along with 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
  • Previous experience in retail management or a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an outstanding customer experience and foster customer loyalty.
  • Proven capacity to assess talent and manage team performance.
  • Strong business acumen coupled with analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Effective communication abilities across all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to include evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Physical capability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead as part of job duties.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
  • Familiarity with operating a POS system.
