Position: Night Cook, Noon-8:30pm, Full-time, Mattawan
The Culinary & Hospitality Associate will perform a variety of tasks under general supervision, adhering to established protocols within the Food Service department. This role requires a deep commitment to compassion and excellence in customer service. All members of the Bronson Food & Nutrition team are expected to consistently deliver outstanding service to customers, demonstrate teamwork and a proactive attitude, manage time effectively, adhere to instructions, and exhibit precision in the execution of tasks. The successful candidate should also be prepared to engage in duties that extend beyond their specific role regularly to support the operational needs of the Food and Nutrition Department.
The Culinary & Hospitality Associate Level 2 will take charge of the proper cooking of meats, vegetables, soups, sauces, gravies, and entrees, utilizing various cooking techniques. This position demands efficiency and composure in fast-paced kitchen environments while upholding a positive demeanor. The individual may function as a cook in both retail and inpatient culinary settings and must adhere to stringent dietary guidelines and sanitation standards established by the Food and Nutrition Department.
In this critical role, the selected candidate will act as a liaison between the clinical and Food & Nutrition teams, facilitating meal service to our patient population. Responsibilities include introducing the patient menu, explaining the ordering process, and addressing any prescribed dietary needs or restrictions as mandated by physicians. The role entails a significant degree of autonomy, necessitating travel to various inpatient units and kitchens across the hospital campus. This position also involves assisting patients and their families with meal ordering via the Bronson Room Service computer system and managing inquiries through the Bronson Room Service phone line.
Required Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:
- Assemble and serve food and supplies to customers, patients, and supply facilities.
- Deliver meals and supplies to patients.
- Perform light and heavy cleaning tasks as assigned, such as dishwashing and facility upkeep.
- Operate cash registers and patient meal ordering systems.
- Manage stocking, labeling, dating products, and maintaining inventory rotation.
- Prepare, portion, distribute, and store various hot and cold food items according to established recipes and production standards.
- Utilize kitchen appliances and utensils effectively.
- Adjust production amounts based on recipe modifications as necessary.
- Maintain exceptional quality standards and appropriate cooking methods.
