POSITION SUMMARY:
We are excited to offer a pivotal opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail location at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an outstanding 5.11 brand experience, fostering and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

DELIVER OVERALL BRAND EXPERIENCE

  • Direct and exemplify 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
  • Collaborate with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to facilitate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
  • Lead and delegate the process of merchandise handling, replenishment, and sales floor recovery to meet brand standards.
  • Ensure all alterations and embellishments are executed according to departmental specifications.
  • Model an efficient and satisfying cash wrap experience.
  • Oversee housekeeping duties to maintain a tidy, clean, and professional store environment.
  • In conjunction with the Store Manager, monitor and follow up on sales goals and budgets to optimize profitability.
  • Assist with reductions, price alterations, and merchandise transfers.
  • Unload deliveries, receive, open, unpack merchandise, and label items with security tags.
  • Adhere to and implement safety and security routines to prevent loss while ensuring the safety of employees and customers.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all Company systems utilized in-store.

BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS

  • Cultivate an environment focused entirely on the customer.
  • Demonstrate selling behaviors that foster customer relationships and enhance brand loyalty.
  • Promote and support the use of in-store tools and systems to nurture customer relationships.

ACHIEVE RESULTS

  • Assume accountability for store and individual sales objectives.
  • Contribute to attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber customer service specialists.
  • Assess team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal channels, ensuring positive collaboration among team members and resolving issues proactively.
  • Draft and adjust the store’s labor schedule as needed.
  • Assist in managing controllable expenses within the store.
  • Safeguard store assets by enforcing loss prevention practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To thrive in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree, or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
  • Prior retail management or supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to enhance customer experience and foster loyalty.
  • Proven capability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
  • Strong business acumen complemented by strategic and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly; must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Familiarity with using a POS system.
