Join Sheridan as a Bindery Operator and be part of a dynamic team dedicated to the craft and art of printing. Located in Grand Rapids, MI, this position operates on the 1st shift from 7 AM to 3 PM. Job Summary:

  • Efficiently set up and operate bindery equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and assist with the general upkeep of assigned machinery.
  • Perform a variety of material handling tasks.
  • Adhere to production and quality standards set by operators and management, ensuring all reports are accurate.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and workplace policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the working area.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace that matches machine output.
  • Follow detailed instructions and job specifications accurately.
  • Capable of reading and comprehending simple directives.
  • Apply common sense to execute basic tasks and manage standardized situations with occasional variability.
  • Strong mathematical abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a propensity to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

The base schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with potential for Saturday overtime. Shifts include:

  • 1st shift: 7 AM – 3 PM
  • 2nd shift: 3 PM – 11 PM
  • 3rd shift: 11 PM – 7 AM
    Overtime is compensated at a rate of time and a half after 40 hours per week, with shift premiums of 5% for 2nd shift and 7% for 3rd shift.
