Job description:

Pay: $7 per hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist patrons in selecting food and beverages by presenting the menu, suggesting cocktails and appetizers, explaining chef’s specialties, recommending appropriate wines, and accommodating special dietary needs.
  • Transmit orders to the bar and kitchen by accurately recording patrons’ selections and noting any special requests.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff by monitoring the timing of meal preparation.
  • Serve ordered items by efficiently delivering selections from the bar and kitchen, including accompaniments and condiments as requested.
  • Respond proactively to guest needs by observing the dining experience and inquiring about additional requirements.
  • Maintain an organized table setting by removing completed courses, replenishing utensils, and refilling water glasses while being attentive to spills and additional patron needs.
  • Collect payments by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, and providing change or credit card slips as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and alcoholic beverage control policies to protect both the establishment and patrons.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • Completion of some high school education or equivalent.
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash handling, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business demands.
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screening.

  • Prior server experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale (POS) technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
