POSITION SUMMARY:
To advance our mission, we are seeking a Shift Lead for our retail store located at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, fostering customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DELIVERING OVERALL BRAND EXPERIENCE
- Direct and exemplify 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and sales floor recovery according to brand standards.
- Ensure alterations and embellishments are executed per departmental specifications.
- Demonstrate an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and professional store environment through diligent housekeeping.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to monitor and follow up on sales goals, plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
- Assist with markdowns, price changes, and transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, receive, unpack merchandise, and affix security tags.
- Adhere to and execute safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure safety for both employees and customers.
- Possess a working knowledge of and oversee the use of all company systems in the store.
BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
- Create an environment with a 100% focus on the customer.
- Model and promote selling behaviors that enhance customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Support the use of store tools and systems to nurture customer relationships.
ACHIEVE RESULTS
- Be accountable for store and individual sales goals.
- Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber service specialists.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring a positive team environment and resolving any issues.
- Develop and adjust the store labor schedule as needed.
- Assist in managing store controllable expenses.
- Safeguard store assets through the implementation of loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following credentials:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, ideally in apparel.
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to provide an exceptional customer experience and foster customer loyalty.
- Proven skills in talent assessment and performance management.
- Strong business acumen with strategic and analytical capabilities.
- Effective communication skills across all levels of the organization.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Physical requirements include standing, lifting, walking, and reaching overhead regularly, with the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Capability to operate a POS system.
