Job description:

At Great Wolf, the Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet and event operations, including setup, food presentation, service, and cleanup. This role emphasizes exceptional quality presentation and customer service. The Banquet Manager will also supervise banquet staff, which encompasses hiring, training, coaching, discipline, and performance evaluations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
– Manage personnel processes, including hiring, scheduling, and training banquet staff in various service techniques including American, French, buffet, and parade styles.
– Define performance requirements for banquet staff and develop actionable plans to achieve goals.
– Monitor staff attendance according to schedules; adjust and reassign server stations as necessary to ensure quality service during events.
– Supervise the setup of function rooms, ensuring that arrangements meet client specifications.
– Oversee the cleanup process of function spaces and the correct breakdown and storage of all equipment.
– Maintain effective communication during functions with kitchen, service, beverage, convention services, engineering staff, and guest hosts to guarantee timely execution, quality service, and compliance with all relevant regulations and corporate standards.
– Accurately process billing information using a POS system, paying keen attention to detail.
– Handle payroll for each event, which includes calculating hours worked and managing gratuity distribution.
– Maintain inventory of supplies and linens for events, with approval from the Food & Beverage Director.
– Assist servers and captains with event execution in accordance with the event order and Great Wolf’s quality standards.
– Adhere to and conformance with internal rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:
– High School diploma or equivalent experience.
– Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience within the food & beverage sector.
– Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
– Prior experience ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., Ergonomics, Emergency Response, Injury and Illness Prevention, Hazard Communication Plans).
– Flexibility in scheduling based on business demands.
– Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
