Job description:

At Great Wolf, the Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquets and events, including setup, food presentation, service, and cleanup, with a strong emphasis on quality and customer service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee personnel processes including hiring, scheduling, and training banquet staff in service techniques for various formats such as American, French, buffet, and parade styles.
  • Establish performance standards for banquet staff and create action plans to meet these goals.
  • Monitor staff attendance per schedule and adjust server assignments as needed to ensure exceptional service during events.
  • Supervise the setup of function rooms and conduct inspections to ensure adherence to client specifications.
  • Oversee the cleanup process, including the proper breakdown and storage of all equipment.
  • Communicate effectively during events with kitchen, service, beverage, convention services, engineering staff, and the guest host to ensure timely, high-quality service and compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Accurately process billing information using a POS system, maintaining attention to detail.
  • Manage payroll for each event, encompassing hours worked and gratuity distribution.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and linens for functions with the approval of the Food & Beverage Director.
  • Assist servers and captains in executing events according to the event order and Great Wolf’s quality standards.
  • Adhere to Great Wolf policies and regulations to ensure the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities.

Basic Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in food and beverage.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Previous experience ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., Ergonomics, Emergency Response, Injury and Illness Prevention, Hazard Communication Plans).
  • Flexibility regarding scheduling based on business demands.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
