Job description:

Pay: $7 per hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist patrons in selecting food and beverages by presenting the menu, offering cocktails and appetizers, suggesting courses, explaining chef’s specialties, recommending appropriate wines, and addressing dietary restrictions or special needs.
  • Record and communicate orders to the bar and kitchen, noting any special requests or dietary considerations.
  • Keep kitchen staff informed about meal timing and progression.
  • Serve orders by picking up and delivering selected items from the bar and kitchen, including requested accompaniments and condiments.
  • Anticipate and respond to additional needs of patrons by observing the dining experience.
  • Maintain table settings by clearing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and addressing spills or special requests.
  • Handle transactions by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payments, and returning change or credit cards to patrons.
  • Uphold sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies to protect the establishment and patrons.

Basic Qualifications & Skills:

  • Some High School education or equivalent.
  • Basic mathematical skills applicable to cash handling (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Flexibility in scheduling based on business demands, including availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Completion of a criminal background check and drug screening.
