At Great Wolf, the Banquet Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of banquets and events, ensuring exceptional set-up, food presentation, service, and cleanup while prioritizing quality and customer satisfaction. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage personnel processes, including recruitment, scheduling, and training of banquet staff in American, French, buffet, and parade service techniques.
- Establish performance standards for banquet staff and devise action plans to achieve key objectives.
- Monitor staff attendance, making adjustments to server stations as necessary to ensure top-quality service during events.
- Supervise the setup of function rooms, ensuring compliance with client specifications through visible inspections.
- Oversee the cleanup process for function rooms, ensuring efficient breakdown and proper storage of all equipment.
- Maintain effective communication throughout events with kitchen personnel, service teams, and guests to ensure timely execution and adherence to safety and health regulations.
- Accurately process billing and payroll information using the POS system, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies and linens for events, with the approval of the Food & Beverage Director.
- Assist servers and captains in executing events in alignment with the event order and Great Lake Co. quality standards.
- Adhere to Great Lake Co. rules and regulations for safe and efficient hotel operations.
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in food and beverage
- Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
- Prior experience in ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., Ergonomics, Emergency Response, Injury and Illness Prevention, Hazard Communication Plans)
- Flexibility in scheduling based on business requirements
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening
