POSITION SUMMARY:
To realize our mission, we are excited to offer an opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail location in Shelby Township, MI. This role will be pivotal in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, building and nurturing customer relationships, and achieving store sales objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DELIVER OVERALL BRAND EXPERIENCE
- Drive and exemplify 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate merchandise processing, replenishment, and maintenance of sales floor standards.
- Ensure that all alterations and embellishments comply with departmental specifications.
- Model an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Oversee housekeeping duties to maintain a neat and professional store environment.
- Monitor sales goals, sales plans, and budgets with the Store Manager to optimize profitability.
- Assist with reductions, price changes, and merchandise transfers.
- Manage the unloading of delivery trucks, receiving, unpacking merchandise, and labeling with security tags.
- Follow and implement safety and security protocols to mitigate losses and ensure employee and customer safety.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all store systems.
BUILD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
- Foster an environment with an unwavering focus on customer service.
- Exhibit selling behaviors that cultivate customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Promote and support the use of store tools and systems to enhance customer engagement.
ACHIEVE RESULTS
- Assume accountability for achieving store and individual sales goals.
- Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber service specialists.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal channels, ensuring teamwork and resolving issues effectively.
- Create and adjust the store labor schedule as needed.
- Manage controllable expenses of the store effectively.
- Safeguard store assets through the execution of loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To successfully perform this role, an individual should possess the following credentials:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a superior customer experience and foster customer loyalty.
- Proven capability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
- Strong business acumen combined with strategic and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Regular requirements to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead are expected.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
- Competence in utilizing a POS system.
