Dental Assistant

Tru Family Dental in Lapeer is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to become an integral part of our team, where full benefits are included.

Responsibilities:
As a Dental Assistant, you will:

– Welcome and assist patients throughout their dental journey, ensuring their comfort and providing them with essential education during treatment.
– Conduct comprehensive reviews of patients’ health histories to facilitate quality care.
– Take and process diagnostic images, including x-rays, as well as utilizing tools such as the iTero 3D scanner and digital photography.
– Provide excellent chairside assistance to dentists during various procedures in adherence to the state dental practice act.
– Manage patient scheduling and record-keeping through Dentrix.
– Prepare treatment rooms in strict accordance with safety guidelines, adhering to OSHA and CDC regulations.
– Oversee supply levels and inventory management, placing and expediting orders as necessary.
– Collaborate with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems and optimize office workflow.

About Tru Family Dental Lapeer:
Our office, like each Heartland Dental-supported location, is distinctively tailored to meet the needs of the community and patients we serve.

– Become part of a 14-member team that values collaboration, communication, and community.
– Work hours: Monday 11am-8pm, Tuesday 7:30am-4pm, Wednesday 7:30am-2pm, and Friday 7:30am-2pm.

Minimum Qualifications:
– A solid understanding of dental procedures and terminology.
– Experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
– If required by state regulations, dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification.
– Excellent communication and organizational capabilities.
– Regular HIPAA training will be mandatory, and protection of patient health information (PHI) is essential.

Preferred Experience:
– A minimum of 1 year of experience in a dental setting.
– Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software.
– Certification from a dental assisting program.

Physical Requirements:
– Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations; accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential responsibilities of the role.
– Capable of prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
– Must be able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds as required.
– Availability to participate in virtual or in-person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
– As part of our commitment to safety, a tuberculosis (TB) test is mandatory for all new hires in dental office roles. This test will be organized during the pre-employment process, with necessary guidance provided. This requirement does not apply in Florida and Tennessee.
