Job description:

Maximus is seeking a highly qualified Director of Quality Management to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team. This remote opportunity offers the chance to oversee and enhance quality management activities across all divisions at Maximus.

The Director of Quality Management will be responsible for providing comprehensive oversight for all quality management functions, including the establishment and management of quality monitoring systems, quality reviews, data analysis, reporting, and corrective actions. This role encompasses readiness reviews, project evaluations, and the follow-up actions related to these activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee quality management activities across Maximus divisions, ensuring adherence to quality monitoring systems, conducting quality reviews, performing analyses, and generating comprehensive reports on quality performance.
  • Provide expert guidance on quality management best practices, compliance requirements, and industry trends to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement innovative strategies and solutions to enhance quality functions within business development for various federal agencies, focusing on cost-effective approaches that meet contractual and governmental standards.
  • Drive business objectives by monitoring performance outcomes, facilitating change initiatives, streamlining processes, and fostering strong interdepartmental relationships.
  • Define and execute strategies to implement a thorough quality management discipline across multiple projects within the organization.
  • Build and manage a dedicated quality management team within the Federal Services division, including direct reports and matrix staff.
  • Oversee teams operating both locally and in remote settings, ensuring effective communication and performance monitoring across projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance metrics across various projects, implementing necessary improvements to maintain quality standards.
  • Lead project reviews and provide technical assistance for quality and process improvement.
  • Mentor project teams in the development of robust quality management plans and methodologies to ensure compliance with all standards.
  • Oversee all compliance certifications, including ISO 9001:2000 and URAC standards.
  • Conduct regular management review meetings to assess the effectiveness of quality systems and facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement reporting structures that continuously monitor and assess quality performance across all functional areas and projects.
  • Maintain professionalism in addressing quality assurance issues, suggestions, and complaints, serving as the primary escalation point for quality matters.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of quality assurance information in line with established policies.
  • Travel to project locations as required.

In this pivotal role, the Director will:

  • Monitor the organization’s quality system to ensure performance remains within established quality standards, implement continuous improvement activities, and support management reviews of the quality systems.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the quality management system, ensuring compliance with policies and adherence to established internal and external standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for ongoing process analyses, enforcing quality requirements and facilitating the regular update of quality assurance programs and policies.
  • Lead accreditation initiatives and internal and external auditing processes.
  • Review and approve quality records, including non-conformity reports, corrective action reports, policies, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Provide regular status reports to stakeholders and manage the internal Quality team, establishing performance standards, and fostering talent development.
  • Update Quality Assurance KPIs related to key quality performance indicators and participate in quality review and planning processes.
  • Provide training and mentoring to promote professional development among team members.
  • Be prepared to travel up to 25% as necessary.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Home Office Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10 years of pertinent professional experience.
  • Eight or more years of experience in quality leadership, including substantial background in managing teams.
  • Quality Certification (e.g., Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) and proficiency in ISO 9001 principles.

  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure environments.

Annual Base Pay Range:

  • Minimum: $80,300.00
  • Maximum: $170,000.00
