POSITION SUMMARY:
We are excited to offer the opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail store located at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. This individual will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, nurturing and maintaining customer relationships, and driving store sales performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver Overall Brand Experience
- Embody and model 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborate closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Lead and delegate the processing, replenishment, and organization of merchandise on the sales floor to meet brand standards.
- Ensure all alterations and embellishments are performed according to departmental specifications.
- Create an efficient and satisfying cash-wrap experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional store environment.
- Under the guidance of the Store Manager, monitor and follow up on sales goals, plans, and budgets to optimize profitability.
- Assist with inventory reductions, price adjustments, and merchandise transfers.
- Unload delivery trucks, process incoming merchandise, and label products with security tags.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
- Possess a working knowledge of and oversee the utilization of all company systems in-store.
Build Customer Relationships
- Foster a customer-centric environment with a 100% focus on customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate effective selling behaviors to cultivate customer relationships and brand loyalty.
- Support the effective use of store tools and systems to strengthen customer relationships.
Achieve Results
- Take accountability for the store’s and individual sales objectives.
- Assist in attracting, recruiting, hiring, and training high-caliber service specialists.
- Evaluate team performance and provide feedback through both informal and formal methods, ensuring a collaborative and positive work environment while effectively resolving issues.
- Develop and adjust the store labor schedule as needed.
- Manage store controllable expenses strategically.
- Safeguard store assets by implementing loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following credentials:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
- Previous experience in retail management or supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver superior customer experiences and foster customer loyalty.
- Proven talent for assessing team performance and managing personnel effectively.
- Strong business acumen, with strategic and analytical proficiency.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization.
- Flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Physical ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly, as well as lift and/or move up to 15 pounds occasionally.
- Competence in operating a POS system.
