POSITION SUMMARY:
We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Shift Lead at our retail store located at 45153 Market St, Shelby Township, MI 48315. This individual will be instrumental in delivering an exceptional 5.11 brand experience, fostering and maintaining customer relationships, and achieving store sales goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
DELIVER OVERALL BRAND EXPERIENCE
- Exemplifies and promotes 5.11’s Values, Mission, and Service Standards to provide an elevated customer experience.
- Collaborates closely with the 5.11 Tactical Merchandising team to coordinate merchandising updates, identify opportunities, and support long-term strategies.
- Leads and delegates merchandise processing, replenishment, and recovery of the sales floor to adhere to brand standards.
- Ensures all alterations and embellishments are carried out according to departmental specifications.
- Models an efficient and satisfactory cash-wrap experience.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and professional store environment through diligent housekeeping.
- In partnership with the Store Manager, monitors and follows up on sales goals, sales plans, and sales budgets to maximize profitability.
- Assists with reductions, price changes, and transfers as needed.
- Oversees the unloading of delivery trucks, receives and unpacks merchandise, and labels items with security tags.
- Implements safety and security protocols to prevent loss and ensure the safety of employees and customers.
- Possesses a working knowledge of and oversees the use of all company systems in-store.

- Supports the use of store tools and systems aimed at nurturing customer connections.

- Evaluates team performance and provides constructive feedback through informal and formal methods, ensuring a collaborative and positive environment while addressing any issues.
- Creates and adjusts the store labor schedule as necessary.
- Aids in managing controllable store expenses.
- Safeguards store assets through the implementation of loss prevention practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree and/or 2-4 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel.
- Previous experience in retail management or supervisory roles.
- Proven track record of delivering a superior customer experience and fostering customer loyalty.
- Demonstrated ability to assess talent and manage performance effectively.
- Strong business acumen, complemented by strategic and analytical skills.
- Effective communication abilities across all organizational levels.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand, lift, walk, and reach overhead regularly, with occasional lifting/moving of up to 15 pounds.
- Familiarity with POS systems is essential.
