In this role, you will provide strategic direction concerning operations, processes, and conditions within your designated area. You will plan, guide, and empower team members in the daily operations of the department, setting a standard through exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with peers to ensure an outstanding shopping experience for customers, particularly during checkout.
  • Communicate with team members and delegate daily tasks.
  • Mentor and coach team members to exceed customer service and sales objectives and maintain Meijer standards.
  • Support the training of new team members and cross-training high-potential talent, ensuring compliance with job responsibilities and standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create department schedules that enhance team engagement and improve customer service and profitability.
  • Monitor product freshness through diligent adherence to rotation and dating policies.
  • Guide compliance with food safety standards and regulations while fostering a safe working environment.
  • Lead team members in tasks related to ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing, and product display as necessary.

  • Operate a register and handle cash transactions as needed.
