Position Summary

  • Kitchen Helper / Dietary Aide: This role involves assisting the Cook with meal preparation and service, placing prepared food on plates/trays according to established policies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food service. Responsibilities also include preparing and delivering food and trays, washing dishes, and sanitizing the kitchen in compliance with health standards.
  • Safety: Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions while responsibly mixing and using cleaning solutions, adhering to all safety precautions. Timely reporting of equipment or cleaning product needs to supervisors is essential, as well as ensuring compliance with established safety and quality guidelines.
  • Punctuality: Consistent attendance and timely arrivals are crucial, along with completing assigned cleaning areas according to schedule and responding promptly to the paging system.
  • Customer Experience: You will represent HCSG positively by following instructions and maintaining courteous interactions with supervisors, colleagues, and client staff.
  • Resident Experience: Engage in positive and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude while effectively following oral and written instructions and performing routine, repetitive tasks daily.
  • After completing the necessary training, leverage leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently while ensuring personal and coworker safety.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; specialized training in food service is advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
  • Current ServSafe certification is required by State/County law.
  • A Food Handler’s card is necessary.
  • Punctuality and reliability in attending work as scheduled are essential.
  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required by State, Local, and/or Customer mandates.
  • Capable of lifting/carrying up to 30 pounds, pushing/pulling a maximum of 50 pounds, and standing, sitting, bending, and walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Comfortable working around food and cleaning products.
  • Residency within the service area is required.
