Position Summary
The Kitchen Helper / Dietary Aide plays a vital role by assisting the Cook in meal preparation and service. Responsibilities include plating and serving food in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as ensuring the delivery of quality food service at all times. This position involves food preparation, tray delivery, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen environment per health standards.
Key responsibilities include:

Safety: Adhere to safety protocols by utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) during all assigned tasks. Ensure proper mixing and usage of cleaning solutions while complying with safety precautions. Timely reporting of equipment and cleaning product needs or malfunctions to the supervisor. Maintain all safety and quality standards while following infection control procedures to ensure a sanitary environment.

Punctuality: Exhibit consistent attendance and timely arrival for scheduled shifts. Complete assigned cleaning tasks according to the timetable. Promptly respond to paging systems as required.

Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by following instructions and being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
- Resident Interaction: Engage in positive and respectful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.
Qualifications
- A positive attitude with the capability to follow both oral and written instructions, and perform routine, repetitive tasks consistently.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills post-training and accomplish responsibilities independently while ensuring safety.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Specialized training in food service is advantageous, and completing an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe certification is mandated by State/County law.
- A food handler’s card is also required.
- Must have reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies as required by State, Local, and/or Customers.
- Physical requirements include the ability to lift a maximum of 30 pounds, push/pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be comfortable working around food and cleaning products.
- Residency within the service area is necessary.
