Job description:
The School Custodian is responsible for performing general cleaning duties within designated areas of a K-12 school, college, or university campus environment.

Basic Qualifications:
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
- No prior experience is required; on-the-job training will be provided.
- A high school diploma, GED, or college degree is not mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in customer service is advantageous.
- At least one year of relevant work experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cleaning and maintenance of assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
- Sweep floors, remove debris, clean spills, and mop designated areas as required.
- Regularly monitor trash receptacles and empty them as necessary throughout all designated spaces.
- Adhere to procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to avoid damage to floors and fixtures.
- Communicate with the lead cleaner or manager regarding any minor or major repairs needed for building operational systems.
- Foster and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, and others.
- Collect, consolidate, and properly separate recycling materials into designated receptacles.
- Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls as part of routine tasks.
- Polish hard surfaces, including woodwork and stainless steel.
- Wipe and sanitize tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food service areas.
- Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, and equipment as necessary for cleaning tasks, using hand trucks as needed.
- Clean interior glass, windows, partitions, and mirrors utilizing appropriate cleaning solutions and equipment such as sponges and squeegees.
- Perform seasonal tasks including sweeping walks, raking leaves, cutting grass, and snow removal.
- Ensure restrooms are maintained in a clean and polished condition as required.
- Adhere to all safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
