Position Summary
- Cook: Responsible for preparing and serving food, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets, in accordance with facility menus and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Ensure quality dining services are consistently provided under the direction of the Dining Services Director. Assist with receiving, storage, preparation, sanitation, and cleaning procedures. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, support Dietary Aides and direct other employees with appropriate authorization.
- Safety: Utilize protective gear as required. Responsible for the safe mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to safety protocols. Report equipment needs and malfunctions to a supervisor in a timely manner. Meet established safety and quality guidelines, follow infection control procedures, and maintain a sanitary environment.
- Punctuality: Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality. Complete assigned tasks according to schedule and respond promptly to paging systems.
- Customer Experience: Represent HCSG positively by following directives and interacting courteously and cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff.
- Resident Experience: Engage in positive, respectful, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and guests within the facility.
Qualifications
- Display a positive attitude and the ability to follow both oral and written instructions while performing routine, repetitive tasks.
- After completing relevant training, effectively utilize leadership skills to fulfill responsibilities independently and safely.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with prior experience in food preparation being advantageous. Completion of an approved sanitation and safety course may be required.
- Current ServSafe or Food Handler certification necessary, in compliance with state or county regulations.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Adherence to COVID-19 vaccination policies as mandated by state, local, or customer requirements.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds, push or pull up to 50 pounds, and stand, sit, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to perform routine and repetitive tasks continuously in environments with food and cleaning products.
- Must reside within the service area.
