Job description:
Skywood Recovery Center is a residential treatment facility dedicated to providing integrated treatment for substance-use disorders. Our center offers a comprehensive range of therapeutic approaches, including individual and group therapy, experiential therapy, equine and art therapy, and yoga. Situated in Augusta, MI, we are conveniently located near Kalamazoo and Lansing, providing a serene environment that encourages outdoor exploration and restorative practices.

The Business Development Representative plays a crucial role in establishing, developing, and expanding our reach within the assigned territory and specific accounts. This position is focused on achieving results by effectively engaging both new and existing referral sources. The role allows for flexible location within the territory, which encompasses Southeast Michigan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
– Surpass company performance targets by establishing influence across diverse market segments, including but not limited to physicians, practitioners, social services, psychiatrists, hospitals, professional organizations, mental health centers, EAPs, attorneys, and advocacy groups, utilizing various engagement methods such as personal appointments, phone outreach, emails, conferences, and community events.
– Build and cultivate an extensive professional referral network within the designated territory.
– Generate new referral accounts through effective qualifying and prospecting, while also maintaining productivity with the existing client base.
– Facilitate and sustain effective communication with facility staff concerning outreach and business development updates, organize weekly facility tours, manage event planning, attend conferences, and ensure appropriate follow-ups.
– Promote events in a manner that attracts new prospects and systematically follow up to maximize opportunities stemming from participation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
– A strong understanding of consultative and solution-focused selling, coupled with the ability to provide valuable insights to clients.
– Proficient in managing large accounts, adept at navigating gatekeepers, influencing multiple decision-makers, and understanding transactional complexities.
– Preferably knowledgeable about substance abuse, addiction recovery, and co-occurring disorders in adults.
– Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of relating to individuals across various organizational levels and diffusing high-tension situations with diplomacy and tact.
– Effective presentation skills in diverse settings, including one-on-one, small group, and larger audiences.
– Strong time management abilities, detail-oriented, conscientious, empathetic, and committed to delivering top-level customer service.

Education and Experience:
– An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health, psychology, business, or a related field is preferred.
– A minimum of one year of recent experience in performance-driven sales, event planning, and business development is required.
– Proven experience in account development with a successful track record of closing sales.
– Knowledge of addiction and dual diagnosis/co-occurring disorders in adults is preferred.
– Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and CRM software.
